Pretty Pastels

Blouse: Marshalls $34.99 (c/0)/Shorts: Marshalls $29.99 (c/0)/Sandals: Marshalls $39.99 (c/o)/Clutch: Francesca’s Collection $38/Necklace: Charming Charlie $20/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $14

Designers can’t get enough of pastel palettes – they seem to have popped up everywhere this spring on the runways. Like the designers, I’ve kind of fallen in love with this sugary sweet trend too because it’s so timeless, feminine and easy to pair. Concerned you’ll look like the Easter Bunny? Don’t be. Since this is one of the few trends that can be worn head-to-toe in the same color, you can go for it and experiment with different textures and fabrics to give a classic yet sophisticated vibe.

Try pairing a blouse in a pastel shade with something floral, like these shorts from Marshalls for $39.99. Add a twist with an oversized statement necklace and tie it all in with neutral sandals to place the emphasis on the girly shade and to give the illusion of long, lean legs.

So go off my fellow-fashionistas and peel off those darker hues, make an excuse to be super girly and try this trend (that’s perfect for lunching and working) out this season.

Safari Chic

Woven Tank: Armani Exchange $17 (after sale)/Boyfriend Chinos: Armani Exchange $32 (after sale)/Sandals: Steve Madden $79.95/Clutch: gift/Necklace: (old)/Earrings: Charming Charlie $15/Bracelets: Express & Charming Charlie $10-15/Sunglasses: H&M $8

Forget camo, safari chic is a trend that never goes out of style. It’s classic, durable and so easy to put together. It’s quite simple. Here’s how you can pull it off…

First, stick to the basics and incorporate a couple pieces into your wardrobe with neutral hues like khaki, cream, black, white or gray. Armani Exchange is a great place to start shopping since they’re known to carry an array of solids that you can easily mix and match. I suggest shopping there when they have killer sales (my tank and chinos were scored at 40% off).

Next, throw in a couple colorful accents to contrast against the earthy tones – like a brightly colored statement necklace or an exotic print such as zebra, leopard or crocodile. You can also dress up an all-natural look with rustic elements such as a woven clutch or leather sandals. And lastly, be sure to polish it off with neutral makeup in coral and bronze tones. While this look isn’t exactly well suited for a trek in the middle of Africa, it’s definitely chic enough for an adventurous night out with your girlfriends. Let me know what you think!

Ray of Sunshine

Top: Express $29.90/Skirt: H&M $29.95/Sandals: Marshalls $39.99 (c/o)/Clutch: Francesca’s Collection $38/Necklace: Banana Republic $27 (after sale)/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $14/Bracelets: Forever 21 $10.80

When choosing an outfit, I try to start with one piece and build from there. This look’s inspiration came from these neutral sandals, which were scored from Marshalls (another fav. store) for next to nothing. I paired them with a spring-like, flirty skirt from H&M and a bright, colorful top to exude South Florida style, and tied it all in with sunny accessories from Banana Republic and Francesca’s Collection.

Ladies and Gents – be sure to show Marshalls what you found via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook for the chance to score a weekly gift certificate. All you have to do is tag them in the post and use hashtag, #fabfound to enter. I recently picked up a couple fun pieces from there and can’t wait to feature them on the blog this month! Be on the lookout for my #fabfounds.

Shorts Ahoy

Lace Top: Express $30/Shorts: J.Crew Outlet $30/Sandals: Steve Madden $79.95/Purse: Francesca’s Collection $34/Necklace: Forever 21 $10.80/Bracelets: Express & Charming Charlie $15-10/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $14/Sunglasses: Francesca’s Collection $19

Cruise into spring with a contemporary, nautical piece. It’s a great trend to invest in because it results in crisp and classic looks that you’ll be able to wear again and again. But use with caution; don’t go overboard – too many sailboats, navy and white hues paired with Sperry boat shoes will kill the look. Here’s how to keep it chic:

Start with one piece, like these pleated, high-waisted shorts from the J. Crew Outlet, and build from there. Stick to a top that shows off the shorts, like this white peak-a-boo cropped tank from Express and accessorize with pieces that won’t damage if they get wet. Tie it all in with neutral sandals and a timeless clutch to keep the attention on the details, and to transition from cruising on the boat to after-dinner cocktails on land.

Jolt of Cobalt

Tank: H&M $12.95/Shorts: H&M $14.95/Flats: Urban Outfitters (old)/Clutch: gift/Necklace: Forever 21 $10.80/Earrings: Forever 21 $6.80/Bracelets: Charming Charlie $10-15

Brands are feeling blue, but the feeling is anything but. Cobalt is such a fun, vibrant shade that’s guaranteed to make splash. Here’s how you can play it up:

First, find pieces that have interesting textures, like this breathable tank from H&M. Then, tie it in with a print that’s complementary in shade, such as these faded, cotton shorts from H&M. (I’m kind of obsessed with this store for many reasons, but we’ll save that for later). Amp up the wattage with another loud accessory, like these statement earrings from Forever 21 and tie it in with a toned-down clutch to keep the focus on colors.

On another note – I want to thank all of my dear friends and family for supporting this! I’ve had so much fun doing it and look forward to sharing more. I also want to thank my amazing photographer, Chelsae (link above), for shooting such incredible photos. Please show her some love and follow her on Instagram!

Bold and Brazen

Top: H&M $17.95/Skirt: H&M $17.95/Sandals: Steve Madden (old)/Clutch: H&M $17.95/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $14/Bracelets: Francesca’s Collection, Charming Charlie and Saks Off 5th $5-20

I broke up this fiery, red pencil skirt with a mod, boxy cropped-top that’s trendy and bold. If the proportions are right, cropped tops can give the illusion of appearing taller than you actually are so definitely try to snag a couple this season. I love them.

With so much play up top, I kept the bottom half of my outfit neutral with a simple yet sexy, ankle strap heel from Steve Madden. (If you can’t tell by now, this is my go-to shoe). I threw in a black, leather clutch with a tassel accent and toughened up the look with edgy accessories collected from Francesca’s Collection, Charming Charlie and Saks Off 5th, which plays nicely for evening’s best. Guess it’s time for a night out – happy Friday!

Festival Fashions by thestylebungalow featuring a turquoise necklace

With SunFest right around the corner, I figured I’d do some research and create a quick cheat sheet, detailing what I would wear if money were no object. A lot of times, I snap screenshots of my favorite outfits from top designers and try to replicate them at stores like Express, Forever 21, H&M and Zara so here’s some inspiration.

Festival necessities include – comfortable shoes, a lacy top, shorts – seriously, how else will you fend off 90-degree temps, oversized sunnies and loads of memorable accessories with bright colors and geometric shapes. Steer clear of anything too tight. And pretty sure with this look you’ll brave concert crowds in comfort and look festival-chic too!

Effortlessly Cool

Blouse: Banana Republic $89.50 (before sale)/Jeans: Armani Exchange (old)/Sandals: Steve Madden $79.95/Purse: Francesca’s Collection $34/Belt: H&M $6/Necklace: H&M $8/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $14/Bracelets: Charming Charlie $10-15/Sunglasses: H&M $8

[Chelsae Anne Photography]

Cool hues look especially polished when paired together. Here’s how to channel a carefree and relaxed vibe:

Find a silk button-down blouse and tuck it into a pair of light denim jeans or pencil skirt, like this one from Banana Republic. When accessorizing soft hues of blue, consider jewelry that will pop against the color and accentuate your best features. This large, gold-linked necklace from H&M is great because it lies flat on your neckline – without adding a lot of bulk – and looks super-luxe when it peeks out from underneath a collar.

Throw in a pair of reflective sunnies to block out the glare and elevate your look from casual-cool to effortlessly chic.

Denim Deals

Top: Forever 21 $16/Jeans: Gap $42/Sandals: Steve Madden $79.95/Purse: Francesca’s Collection $34/Necklace: vintage/Earrings: Charming Charlie $10/Bracelets: Charming Charlie $10-15 (both)

[Chelsae Anne Photography]

Does your wardrobe have the blues? Looking for some jean inspiration? Stop by Gap and check out their ever-changing line of moderately priced, printed denim. I’m such a fan! These washed-out, faded jeans were scored for just $42 during one of their weekend sales. I unified the look with a roomy, sunshine-yellow, linen top from Forever 21 for $16 and paired it with some of my go-to, neutral accessories to place the emphasis on the print and to give off a laid-back vibe perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

A quick alternative to tailoring skinny jeans is to roll up the bottoms. Not only will it show off your fresh pedicure, but it will also help elongate your legs – especially when paired with neutral sandals

This look wouldn’t be complete without tons of gold accessories and a statement necklace with gold details to tie it all in. Cue sunset cocktails. Cheers!

Island Vibe

Whether you’re strolling the strip on Collins Avenue in Miami or you’re ready to take off and touchdown near a beach, be sure to have a look that can easily transfer from poolside-chic to after-sunset. These tribal-printed pants team perfectly with this statement necklace that has hints of green in it – not to mention, how cute it would look contrasted against glowing skin. Pull it all together with an oversized, floppy hat, a clutch that will get the conversation going and coral polish.
