 [c/o L’Occitane en Provence]

I had such a great time visiting the new L’Occitane en Provence boutique at CityPlace last week with some of West Palm’s finest beauty and fashion bloggers. Dionne, the store manager, greeted and gave me a fantastic tour, of which she explained each product line and the history of the brand as well as give me a soothing hand massage, fragrance ritual and luxe mini-facial. I learned that my skin was very dry, likely due to the harsh cleanser I was using on my face, and was given a new foam cleanser and the Crème Divine to remedy it with.

To give you a little background on this miracle cream (yes, it’s that amazing), it’s been voted – twice – as the highest-ever-scoring cream in The Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible, among a number of other lifestyle magazines too. It’s rich in the Corsican immortelle flower essential oil (see flower pic. above), which gives it an amazing smell and more importantly, is an all natural, paraben-free and relatively affordable product when compared to other creams like La Mer and Chanel’s line of moisturizers.

Since using it (twice daily), I’ve noticed my skin is a lot softer, brighter, dewy and fresh looking. I also love that it’s super, super concentrated so a lot will go a long way aka you’ll end up saving a ton of money if you use it.

Sold? Click this link to get it.

I also learned that L’Occitane uses shea butter that’s harvested by a group of women in Sub-Saharan Africa that use the super-creamy ingredient to nourish and protect their skin. When it arrives to the L’Occitane factory, it’s in it’s purest form and is extremely rich – which why you see a percentage labeled on the front of most of their products.

Enriched with 20% shea butter, their hand cream is super rich and with no oily traces – making it the perfect hand cream for those of you using your hands a lot. I definitely recommend checking it out.

So before wrapping this up, I want mention two more things – first, if you bring in a group of 5 or more girls – everyone will be treated to mini-facials, hand massages, fragrance rituals and a special discount. And as a bonus for hosting it, you’ll receive a basket full of complimentary goodies – so definitely try to schedule a party for you and your friends!

Second, there’s a party coming up this Thursday, Sept.4th at their CityPlace location, in partnership with one of NYC’s most iconic bars, Please Don’t Tell. Guests who attend will be pampered with complimentary rituals, refreshments, and receive a pouch full of goodies, with any $65 purchase!

That’s all for today! Hope you’re having a great Labor Day weekend!

Top: (c/o) Bar III via Macy’s $28 (on sale now here)/Skirt: Ann Taylor $45 (after sale)/Sandals: Target $29.99/Clutch: Francesca’s Collection $38/Bracelet: (c/o) Vince Camuto via Macy’s $78 (buy it here)/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $14

We have all been there – it’s 5 p.m. and we’re about to head out the door to happy hour, but don’t want to walk in wearing a drab work outfit. If you run home and change, you miss happy hour, but if you don’t switch things up – you run the risk of looking too serious in an environment that’s supposed to be fun.

So what do you do?

Start off by wearing a fun pencil skirt to work. Not only is it a career staple, but it’s also a great piece to wear when transitioning from work-to-happy hour wear. Why? Because it’s conservative enough for work, yet can easily be dressed up/down for just about any occasion. All you have to do is change up your accessories and voilà – you have a completely different outfit.

I love the design of this pretty skirt – it’s slim, tailored and eye catching. I kept it the focal point of my outfit by styling it with a simple top and accessories, but you could go in a completely different direction and style yours with a shimmery top and evening shoes or, with an oversized tank top, gladiator flats and a crossbody bag.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the sandals and skirt online because I bought it a couple months ago, but I did find a similar skirt from Ann Taylor LOFT that’s SO adorable (see below) or this black/white one on sale for $40 (plus, take an additional 40% off today!). Check it out and if you like, buy it and then share your photo with me in the comment section below (I think you can do that, right?)!

Make it a great day…

Top: (c/o) BCBG MaxAzria via Marshalls $39.99/Jeans: H&M (old)/Sandals: Steve Madden $89/Clutch: TJ Maxx $19.99/Earrings: H&M $7.95

I kept today’s look easy with a loose-fitted top with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans. I pulled it together with white chandelier earrings, a white box clutch and of course – my all time, favorite sandal – the ‘Stecy’ from Steve Madden.

You could also tuck this top into a high-waisted pleated skirt for a date with that special someone, or let the pattern pop against a pair of white trousers for the office. Either way, a lightweight silk top is a must-have piece for those of you living in warmer climates like yours truly.

I found this one at Marshalls while I was in Boston, but you could easily find something similar in stores now. If prints are not your thing, then stick to a silk top that’s basic – that way you can team it with just about anything in your wardrobe – from denim to a chunky cardigan when the weather cools.

Share your thoughts on this outfit in the comment section, and be sure to check out some of my favorite pieces from my wish list below – all of which, we’re inspired by this look.

Top: (c/o) Joie via Marshalls $39.99/Shorts: H&M $9.95/Wedges: (c/o) Dolce Vita via TJ Maxx $39.99/Necklace: (c/o) BAR III via Macy’s $48 (buy it here!)/Bracelet: Charming Charlie $15/Earrings: Charming Charlie $14

One of my favorite ways to punch up an outfit is to do it with accessories. Not only do they polish off your look, but they add personality too. Plus, there’s nothing that brings a smile to a woman’s face like a pair of dazzling earrings, a pair of killer heels or an unbelievable tote (take note, my dear male friends). I’m telling you, adding in that one accessory could be the thing that takes your outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. I’ve seen a simple black dress be transformed with the right accessories.

Bold or understated, real or fake, small or big – I love them all. While some of you prefer minimalism, I have a hard time leaving my apartment without loading up. (P.S. before I go further, you MUST visit this website for inexpensive, ahh-mazing accessories.) No matter what your preference is, make sure you have fun with it and choose pieces that suit your personality or your outfit best.

For this look, I paired a silk Joie top from Marshalls (normally $128, on sale for $39.99… SCORE) with a pair of printed shorts. I threw in a cool statement necklace from BAR III and mixed it in with neon earrings and a fun clutch from TJ Maxx for $14.99.

As I’ve said before, you don’t have to spend a lot on your accessories. Just beware of anything that looks too cheap, and avoid pieces that are direct copies of the real thing. To help you out, I’ve selected a couple of my favorite pieces below – all under $75. Feel free to check them out – annnnd my new, ‘Shop’ tab in my navigation bar to see what I’m currently obsessing over.

Blouse: French Connection via TJ Maxx $39.99/Pants: Banana Republic $26 (after sale)/Clutch: Francesca’s Collection $38/Sandals: Steve Madden (old) – find a similar pair here/Necklace: (c/o) Bar III via Macy’s $38/Earrings: Francesca’s Collection $4.95/Nail Polish: Essie ‘Waltz’ (my go to for a mani) and ‘Capri’ (so classic for a pedi)

Whether an iPhone case, a bag, hosiery, an itsy-bitsy teeny tiny bikini or a piece of clothing, we have all polka dots somewhere in our closets. The pattern, equal parts classic and girly, can be so much fun to wear – and if you’re a style-extrovert like me, too tempting to ignore.

To achieve this look, start with pants – this playful pair is great to wear when transitioning from work-to-dinner style. The polka dot design is cut to fit straight through the waist and thigh, and then narrows a bit towards the calf. Wear yours with a simple white tee and sandals, or team them with a bold printed top, like this one from French Connection purchased from TJ Maxx for less than $40. Scoooore!

Even though it’s a print, the pressed crease helps elongate your profile (hard to see in the photos), while the polka dot finish distracts from problem areas like your thighs and hips. If you feel uneasy about wearing pants like this pair, then my suggestion is to opt for wearing just a polka dot top or opt for pants that have smaller dots on them. The same applies for your top – be sure to choose a print that you’re comfortable with. Just remember… the bigger the print, the bolder the look.

Love it? Give it a try and shop the polka dot inspired look below (I’m obsessed with the necklace and clutch)! In a couple days, I’ll have a new tab on my website for my all wish list items (think tons of accessories, brights, shoes, etc.) – all of which will be shopable! Ah, I can’t wait! Stay tuned… and have a fab day today!

I’m wearing… Jacket: (c/o) American Rag via Macy’s $79/Top: (c/o) RACHEL by Rachel Roy via Macy’s $69/Skirt: (c/o) Macy’s Junior Dept. $15.99/Sandals: (c/o) Steve Madden via Macy’s $63/Statement Necklace: (c/o) BAR III via Macy’s $48/Bracelet: (c/o) Vince Camuto via Macy’s $78/Lipstick: ‘Russian Red’ via MAC at Macy’s $16

When it comes to popular styles for juniors, Macy’s has a great selection that’s well suited for just about all personalities, and ages. From wardrobe staples like denim, leopard sneakers, mini-backpacks, and on-trend pieces, Macy’s has something for everyone’s back-to-school checklist.

I was thrilled when they asked me to host their Back-to-School event with Teen Vogue. I had a blast putting together 12 head-to-toe looks, working with the models and the Teen Vogue IT Girls, as well as mingling with some of the shoppers… including my friend Jess, blogger behind Beauty Meets Buddha, who decided to pop in and glance at MAC’s newest products for the fall.

I also had so much fun jamming out with the DJ, getting my nails and hair done, snapping a quick pic in the photo booth, snacking on yummy treats, and shopping at the BCBG truck show.

To recap…

This fall, palazzo pants, oversized lace cardigans, cropped tops and printed trousers will continue take center stage. Moto jackets and washed-out skinny jeans will also be must-haves. Let’s not forget about boyfriend blazers, baby doll dresses, flouncy skirts and shorts – all of which, are so hot this season.

I’m also a tad obsessed with lace-up sandals (check out this multi-colored pair from Steve Madden), wedges, slip on sneakers, studded flats, and pointed toe ballet flats (like, this pair from Steve Madden).  For accessories, it continues to be all about gold jewelry, bold statement necklaces and dainty rings and for wardrobe staples, it’s all about mini-backpacks (love with this one).

Be sure to visit your local Macy’s for the latest fashions and for more information about fun-filled events going on this season.

Oh, and now you can shop my looks below!

Okay, so maybe I’m a tad color-obsessed, but it’s the summer and now’s the time to wear brights so who cares.

Besides, I truly think that wearing the right colors can make you appear vibrant and beautiful. It’s one of the most important things I look for (aside from tailoring) when shopping because nearly anything can be made to look chic if it’s complimentary to your skin tone.

Pink tends to be a universally flattering color on pretty much everyone. For brunettes, almost all shades look great. For blondes, pastel pink looks awesome. And for redheads, the color is unexpectedly flattering depending on type of shade that’s chosen.

When headed to the office, choose a muted shade like a peach or a dusty rose (favorite). If you’re feeling daring, choose a bright shade like this hot pink peplum top from Banana Republic. And during the fall, try wearing a pink that’s infused with berry shades.

You can also incorporate the shade into your outfit with your accessories – with a blush leather cross body or a beautiful pair of perforated pumps (I’m pretty sure I spotted some at Kate Spade the other day).

Be sure to share your feedback below and don’t forget – tomorrow I’m hosting a ‘Back-to-School’ fashion show with Teen Vogue at Macy’s in the Wellington Mall from 2-4 p.m. Stop by for mini-makeovers, sweet treats, trunk show, giveaways and more! To RSVP, click here.

L’Occitane’s Verbena Collection

Loccitane_1

[c/o L’Occitane en Provence]

As much as I love soaking up the sun, going on vacation, breezy sundresses and longer evenings at the beach, the heat and humidity can be too much and wreck complete havoc on my daily beauty routine. During the summer, I always find myself questioning which lotion I should use, how to keep my skin refreshed, which perfume is delicate enough for daytime wear, and so on – because the last thing I want to do is attempt perfection when I know everything will melt away as the hot day drags on.

Thankfully, L’Occitane en Provence, one of my favorite all-natural beauty brands, launched a line called the Verbena Body Care Collection, to solve this exact issue and let me tell you… it’s perfection.

Inspired by the markets of Provence, where the refreshing, lemony scent of freshly picked verbena leaves fill the air, this line features everything from cooling creams to light perfumes to refreshing shower gels.

Here are some of my favorite items:

Their Frisson Verbena Eau de Toilette is a light, citrusy fragrance that blends top notes of lemon and bergamot (a member of the citrus family) with fresh verbena and cucumber. So many people have commented on it – it’s great!

I’m also staying cool with their Verbena Hand Cream. The cream-to-gel formula leaves you feeling anything but greasy, and the size of the product is perfect for stashing away in your purse.

Next up would be L’Occitane’s Frisson Verbena Gel for Legs and Feet. I like to put mine in the fridge and use it at night, after a hot shower. The cooling gel feels great on my muscles after a hot day or after an intense workout.

Traveling? Consider bringing L’Occitane’s Refreshing Body Mist with you – crafted with a blend of invigorating smells, this cute travel-sized bottle delivers a burst of freshness that’s great for refreshing your skin. I’ve used mine so much lately!

Any style native to Palm Beach would tell you that the most important thing when living here is to be “pulled together” at all times. Your looks should be colorful, trendy and employ your personal sense of style.

For this ‘Palm Beach Chic’ getup, I wore a green skater skirt and paired it with an embroidered peplum top from H&M. I kept my accessories casual, but you could dress it up with nude sandals, a cropped blazer and a gold clutch, for a completely different look. You could also try wearing this top with linen pants, open-toe sandals, a bright orange clutch, gold bangles and a cashmere throw for dinner in-town.

On a separate note, I’m hosting a ‘Back-to-School’ fashion show at Macy’s in the Wellington mall with Teen Vogue this Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Stop by to get a glimpse at this season’s hottest trends, while jamming out to live music and to get the chance to chat with two of Teen Vogue’s hottest IT Girls. There will be giveaways, yummy cupcakes, hair stylists on standby and so much more! Hope to see you there!

I’m so excited to announce that I’ve been chosen to be a part of an exclusive group of bloggers for Marshalls, called #ProjectFab! Throughout the year, I’ll be blogging like… a lot (as if I don’t already)… about designer and name brands fashions found at Marshalls, trends and so much more. I’ll show you what investment pieces you should splurge on and what trendy pieces you should save on, walk you through my head-to-toe looks and give you advice on how to hunt for labels at your local Marshalls location (did you know every Marshalls location is different?).

As you may have seen on my Instagram account, we met up in Boston to kick off the start of the year, and celebrated with a mini-shopping spree, a couple cocktails and to get a sneak peek at what’s in store for fall. (Think trendy ankle booties with cutouts, studded leather clutches, fringed handbags, tons of luxe cashmere… all at ahh-mazing prices.) I had so much fun chatting with the other beautiful and talented bloggers and with the fabulous and fun team behind the Marshalls brand.

Excited? I know I am! You can follow along on my blog and social channels, or tune in to Marshalls’ Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr page (soon to be launched) all year long.
