Show me the Street Style

One of my favorite parts of New York Fashion Week is seeing what all the fashion bloggers attending the shows are wearing (duh!) – yep, I’m talking about the street style.

Street style, for those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept, is nothing more than someone’s day-to-day style. Popular at fashion shows, it’s a great way to see how others are using trends and what’s hittin’ the “streets.”

I love it because it’s a type of fashion that’s personal to you. It allows you to show off your personality while still being trendy and cool. It can be controversial (think: the girls who wear the most ridiculous outfits to get attention), glamorous (think: Olivia Palmero) or preppy (think: Julia Engel from blog, Gal Meets Glam). It’s your own style. It’s what you feel most comfortable in.

I couldn’t help but draw inspiration from the street style scenes this past week at New York Fashion Week and put together a head-to-toe look from Century 21 that feels like… well… me.

At heart, I’m a jean girl. 5-inch heels make me REALLY happy. (Get these bad boys on sale here.) I believe you shouldn’t try too hard when it comes to fashion (hence the slouchy sweater) and splurge on designer accessories (because they never go out of style).

That’s what I feel most comfortable in. And I’m not afraid to admit that… or that I have a problem compulsively hoarding heels. Whatever.

Above all, being yourself is perhaps the most important element to street style… and well, life really. I think what inspires me the most with street style is seeing a woman who confidently expresses herself and rocks it.

Right? Because who doesn’t love that?!

Have a great Thursday.

Hello hello! Welcome back. It’s been awhile since last week’s big announcement on the blog (see below for more)! I’ve been busy with work and traveling every weekend to see friends and family (big shout out to my pops – it’s his 60th birthday today! Happy birthday dad!).

I get asked all the time – how do you wear heels everyday? 1.) I’m a former ballerina so I’m used to putting my little tootsies through some serious stress! And 2.) I wear comfortable heels! Or, at least alternate between sky-high stilettos in the AM to somewhat comfortable heels in the PM.

Comfortable heels? Yep. They exist. Trust me. The most important factor when shopping for a pair of “comfortable heels” is to look for a thick, blocky heel, like this pair from Sam Edelman. A thick heel will give your ankles more support while still providing height. Think less wobbling and more power walking. Plus, they rock and make your legs look way longer! For someone petite like me, that’s super important!

Lastly, consider the narrowness at the toe when searching for comfort. Solution you ask? An open-toed heel to give your little toes room to breathe.

Wear this pair with a sharp blazer or with boyfriend jeans on the weekends. You can also wear them as styled here… with a black crop top layered over a button down and mini skirt!

Love them like I do? Shop below!

P.S. I’ll be at Neiman Marcus Boca Raton this Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 11:30AM hosting a fashion presentation for CUSP on Level 2. Attendees will receive a special gift with purchase and be eligible to win a gift card! See below for deets or email Shannon at!

As always, thank you for stopping by… <3

Ever wish you could hire a fashion blogger to be your personal stylist? Now you can.

Starting today, I’m available to help select clothing just for you!

That means you can now hire me to be your personal stylist.

I’ll work with you on a one-on-one basis (in person or by video call) to help pinpoint which styles flatter your body, create a wardrobe that makes sense with your budget and make recommendations based on my experience as a fashion blogger and legit shopaholic. (#sorrynotsorry)

Here’s how it works…

First timers will be asked to fill out a questionnaire to help identify style needs.

From there, we’ll chat – get to know each other – and together, create a mood board based off of your style requests and favorite outfits online…

I’ll use these details (and my style intuition) to select pieces and accessories for you and shortly after, send you a Shopping List.

After, we’ll recap one more time – make some edits – and continue to work together to create the perfect outfits – just for you!

Prices will vary depending on amount of looks.
