Today I’m spotlighting contemporary line, TRYB 212 from Neiman Marcus.

This line draws inspiration from the beaches of St. Barths and the sidewalks of New York City. Each piece is organically designed and infuses travel and culture. Combining special embroidery methods and handcrafted techniques, like tribal colors and prints, TRYB 212 is meant for a girl who loves an urban metropolis as much as she desires the ocean waves…

The past two days in South Florida have been so gorgeous. Highs in the 80’s, lows in the 70’s. Breezy. Sunny. Not a cloud in the sky. I feel so blessed to call this town my home and to be surrounded by so much beauty everyday. It’s so inspiring!

Speaking of inspiration…

Popular jewelry designer, Kendra Scott, inspired today’s look. Her newest collection, summer 2016, combines nautical influences with a touch of vintage Riviera style. Her new crushed shell embodies the raw beauty of France’s pebble rock beaches, and cultured baroque pearls add a timeless accent of natural beauty.

Striking metallic details take on the bold radiance of the summer sun and the glamorous French culture… How beautiful are these earrings?!

I paired them with a cotton midi skirt and breathable tank from Topshop.

For those of you wondering, this outfit was shot at one of Palm Beach’s most famous historic hotels on the island (and one of my personal favorites), the Brazilian Court Hotel. It’s quintessential Palm Beach, private and so lush. If you get a chance to visit, please make it a point to stop by this hotel!

It’s so sophisticated and timeless! Wear it with gladiator sandals, a mini tote and a sunhat (currently love this one) or with platform sandals.

Stylish Weekend

Blogger Wearing Foundrae Top and Rag and Bone Shorts

TOP, SHORTS, SANDALS, BAG, SUNNIES: c/o Neiman Marcus (click links for more info.)

Thank God it’s Friday. I’m beat. And need a couple days to relax and recoup from last weekend’s trip to Dallas and this week at work. Sometimes it feels like I’m running a marathon (in heels of course)! Ah, but enough about that – I’m truly grateful to be busy and to do what I love everyday! Now let’s talk fashion…

Photo Apr 01, 8 30 09 PM

Rather than wear the same thing on Saturday and Sunday (boyfriend jeans and a comfy white tee), I’m opting for something slightly more stylish (and comfortable) this weekend. Denim shorts and this off-shoulder top from Neiman Marcus.

If you haven’t figured out by now – I love my denim distressed. Like extra extra distressed. Which is why I adore these shorts by Rag & Bone! I love how they have tiny holes in them and a frayed hem. They also fit my petite frame really well.

(Unfortunately, this style is sold out online but you can find a similar pair here.)

Delicate stripes accent this totes adorbs off-shoulder top from designer, Foundrae. I love how versatile it is. You can wear it with denim cut-offs and leather sandals, a white midi skirt with espadrilles, a denim skirt or with cropped white jeans. Plus! Off-shoulder tops are like one of the season’s hottest silhouettes.

My bag of choice for the weekend is always a crossbody because it’s compact and easy to take with me when I’m on the go. This one, by Chloé, is one of my favorites. It’s hue, the details, the trim, those gold studs, that swishy tassel… are all beautifully crafted and 100% worth the splurge.

Suede gladiator sandals from Italian designer, Gianvito Rossi, complete this look. I can’t way to style them with a summer dress or with a pair of cropped jeans.

As always, thanks for stopping by! I’ve enjoyed reading your comments and hope you’ve enjoyed following along. There’s SO much more on the way!

Spring is officially here in West Palm Beach, Florida. Flowers are in bloom. Days are warmer and getting longer. There’s a slight breeze at night. It’s definitely one of my favorite seasons!

The Style Bungalow - Palm Beach, Florida

Spring is also the time to break out floral prints, ruffles, embellished baubles jeans and skirts.

MiH Jean Top - The Style Bungalow

Like this jean top! How adorable is it?! I knew the second I spotted it at Neiman Marcus, I had to style it. It’s by MiH Jeans, a brand known for it’s effortlessly cool denim pieces…. Wear yours tucked into a frayed jean mini skirt (as pictured) or with white jeans and sandals on the weekend.

The Style Bungalow, Chloe handbag

I accessorized this look with this ahh-mazing Chloé ‘Hudson’ crossbody and a couple shark tooth bracelets from House of Lavande in Palm Beach.

But back to this bag – I love the studded details on the front, the whipstitched leather trim and the tassel! While it looks small, it’s actually quite roomy inside with two compartments. It’s also perfect. And one of my favorites this season.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent mine in Dallas attending the RewardStyle conference. I had a great time – laughing, learning, hanging – and can’t wait to see what’s in store this year on the blog… Stay tuned!

Happy Tuesday… welcome back!

Earlier this week, I shared my interview with American fashion designer Jonathan Simkhai. If you haven’t had a chance to read it, scroll down and check it out!

Today I’m spotlighting American designer Kate Valentine, former designer and founder of Kate Spade. Yes, that’s right – the iconic Kate Spade brand!

Since selling the company back in 2007, Valentine has launched a new accessories line called Frances Valentine. The name combines Valentine’s father and mother’s family names and was chosen to represent their legacies. Valentine’s shoes are designed in NYC and made in San Romano, Italy and Spain.

Valentine is about modern, beautifully made designs for women who want something truly special. “No one needs another shoe or bag,” says Valentine. “They have to fall in love with it.”

For my South Floridians, Valentine will be making an appearance at Nordstorm Town Center at Boca Raton this Thursday, April 7 from 6:30-8 p.m.

Earlier this month, I sat down with one of fashion’s hottest young designers, Jonathan Simkhai at Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton. Cue excitement…

Simkhai, a Parsons grad, started working in the fashion industry at fourteen years old as a buyer and merchandiser. It was that experience that provided an inside look at what women desire and formed the basis for his design perspective. After gaining real world experience in the fashion industry, Simkhai launched his brand with a clear focus on “his girl” – the modern cosmopolitan woman – and boy did it take off.

In 2015, Simkhai was named the winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, an initiative to support emerging American fashion talent, and was awarded $300,000 plus a year of mentorship.

Today, Simkhai’s designs have been spotted on IT girls Kendall Jenner; Gigi Hadid; Jamie Chung; Leandra Medine; Miranda Kerr; Scarlett Johansson; Sandra Bullock and Emma Robert, to name a few…

How have you evolved as a designer since winning the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund?

JS: The award has allowed me to dig deep and understand what women come to me for, what they feel when they put my clothes on and what they ultimately want.

The Simkhai woman is faced with mundane moments, meetings, etc., but fashion adds excitement to her life – it helps her deal with the day to day. That’s how I get through my day! Sometimes I wake up and don’t want to get out of bed, but remember that I have this vintage jacket and I get excited. It inspires me.

Tell me more about the Jonathan Simkhai woman…

JS: She loves putting on a great dress, feeling sexy and showing skin. She also feels great wearing a sexy lingerie top with her boyfriend’s jeans or a sweatshirt. She goes with her mood. She embraces fashion. She’s cool and confident.

Simkhai first started designing men’s shirts for his uncle’s wholesale clothing manufacturing business. They would always be the best sellers…

Do you still find inspiration in menswear?

JS: It depends; every season changes. Sometimes I find inspiration in menswear shapes… sometimes it’s in men’s fabrics… sometimes it’s in masculine strengths.

Simkhai goes on to explain how he balances masculine strength and feminine sensuality throughout his designs…

Girls love borrowing boy’s clothing. So if I design something with a menswear shape, I’ll give her something feminine to pair it back.

Simkhai’s “borrowed from the boys” look is something that carries through his brand season after season.

Where do you see your line going in five years?

JS: I would be interested in doing handbags, shoes, and beauty products. I would also love to do menswear!

What has been your most proud moment?

JS: Seeing women in the streets of New York wearing my designs and wearing them with confidence. That’s very cool…

Where are you currently drawing inspiration?

JS: Currently, I’m drawing inspiration from architectural themes. Much like a garage that can hold the weight of cars and trucks, I think the Simkhai woman can go through life holding a lot of weight on her shoulders, too.

How has social media changed fashion?

JS: It can get tricky when a big blogger wears your designs before they are made available to the public. It’s forcing designers to think outside of the box; to make their fashion quickly shoppable.

Lastly, who would you love to dress?

Rooney Mara!

Simkhai’s designs are available at Saks Fifth Avenue, including Boca Raton! Click here for more…

Night everyone! Thanks for stopping by… have a great week!
