Wow. It’s been a hot (literally) second. #hellosummer

I can’t believe my last outfit entry on the blog was like nearly two weeks ago. That’s unheard of for me! But between traveling, shooting (so many great looks on the way!) and casually swimming with STINGRAYS AND NURSE SHARKS (say what?), I’ve barely found time to sleep much less carve out a moment to write. So here we go.

Bye-bye sunny skies. Hello rain.

This week we had bouts of torrential rain, thunderstorms and flooding in South Florida. It’s been nonstop. And when it wasn’t raining, it was cloudy, overcast and surprisingly (although not so much today) cool outside. Rainy season has officially started. Which to some is the “calm before the summer swelter.” But to me, a pest. Because all I want to do is snuggle up in comfy clothes, drink tea and get lost in a good book. Not exactly good for productivity.

Summer-Style

Is it hot in South Florida or what?! Sometimes, when it’s this hot outside, all I want to wear is a cotton t-shirt with cutoff shorts. But since that’s not always an option (think: lunch dates), I decided to feature this look – which, in my opinion, is a slight step up to a causal summer-style look.

Wearing White

DRESS, SANDALS, SILK SCARF: (c/o) Banana Republic

I’ve always lived in the south. I spent my childhood + teenage years in Houston, Texas. Then in South Florida where I danced ballet, went to college, worked, started my blog and so on. Both environments are pretty laid back with fashion rules – i.e. “the rule of wearing white.” Maybe it’s because warmer climates tend to have more leeway when it comes to white. Or maybe it’s that times have changed and there aren’t really any rules in fashion – it’s more about your style. [besides, rules are meant to be broken. If only you knew what we did to get these photos. But let’s save that for another story…]

Utility & Comfort

[Chelsae Anne | Photographer]

UTILITY SHIRT, EARRINGS: J.Crew/SHORTS, HAT: (c/o) Ann Taylor/SLIDES: (c/o) Shopbop/BAG: Zara – love this one!

I don’t know what it is about ease and comfort lately but I’m all about it. And no, I’m not talking about baggy sweatpants and your boyfriend’s old college t-shirt. (Although I’m definitely guilty of wearing those things on my “Netflix & Chill” nights.) I’m talking easy oversized utility shirts for the summer, comfortable linen shorts and cute slides. Items that are ultra comfortable yet incredibly stylish…

Yellow from the Tropics

WEARING – DRESS, EARRINGS, SCARF: (c/o) Ann Taylor/SANDALS: more options here/BAG: more options here

Is it me, or is every major clothing brand using yellow in their collections lately? First it was pink. Now yellow. I dig both. But lately, I’m really vibin’ with shade. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of sunshine, fresh lemonade, scrambled eggs, bumblebees, yummy mustard, flowers… or maybe it’s because it stands out? Regardless, the color yellow tends to be bright and bold. So I’m all in.

Case in point, today’s look from Ann Taylor.

Ciao Makes Me Feel…

Today I’m sharing what my day to day looks like in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida and how wearing the fragrance Ciao by Vince Camuto inspires me to conquer the world and go after my dreams, one spritz at a time…

[Shot by Chelsae Anne]

Whether styling, taking a ballet class, blogging or going on a date, Ciao makes me feel fresh, flirty and fearless. It acts as my finishing touch, an invisible accessory that adds a hint of romanticism to the most average day.

Ciao is a delicate blend of pink grapefruit and tangy Italian mandarin grounded in wild strawberries and blackberries. It fuses floral notes (think: roses, peonies, soft muguets, honeysuckles, jasmine and passionflower) with amber (one of my favorite scents), cashmeran, amaro liquor, sandalwood and patchouli to create a smoldering finish. It’s delicious.

And a fragrance that’s quickly become one of my top-shelf contenders this spring; one that compliments all moments of my life! Feminine gals, this scent was made for you.
