¡Hola!

This weekend was fun. I stayed in Friday night. Woke up early Saturday. Grabbed a fresh cup of coffee. Knocked out a couple blog shoots Saturday morning. And wrapped up the day with my best friend watching funny movies and drinking way too much wine while talking about all the awful guys we used to date. (Yes, we have nicknames for each one too.)

I spent the first half of my Sunday in South Beach. The second half in Wynwood. Overall, a successful (and much needed) fun weekend down south…

Spending this weekend with friends from all walks of life (bloggers, besties, new friends, old friends, etc.) I have to say… I’m so lucky to be a part of this booming blogging industry and do what I love. I’m humbled by it and grateful for all the amazing opportunities it’s brought my way. The fashion… the flexibility… the creative freedom. Everything. Though, not a big blogger, I’m blessed to make this my living. And don’t take it for granted!

Sorry for the gushy-ness. Had to throw that in there!

Today I’m finally getting a chance to share this look (shot a while ago) from Alexis via Neiman Marcus. If you didn’t already know, I adore lace. And am currently having a love affair with all things pink and red (and all variations in between). Because those colors are feminine and bold and unabashed. Those colors are me.

I mean… I “like” other colors (I frequently wear blues and greens). They just don’t make the cut like pinks and reds do because they don’t suit my skin tone/hair color/penchant for all things girly. Pink and red are joyful colors. On trend for SS17. And hard to ignore.

I also love designer Alexis Barabara, who’s synonymous with luxurious South Florida living. Her designs are influenced by the beach, her travels and an effortlessly chic lifestyle. Basically, all things Style Bungalow… Her brand is delicate yet sophisticated, fashion forward and unquestionably fresh. One of my favorites. A designer I’ve featured many, many times on here.

For this look, I slipped on a pair of sandals with statement earrings to make an impact. And well… to head out with a bang, rather than a whisper…

DRESS, HEELS, SUNNIES: (c/o) Neiman Marcus

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday! This morning I had a meeting to discuss a very exciting project (happening mid-November) so stay tuned for updates! It’s something that, to be honest, I never imagined doing! But I’m staying open to whatever life brings me and as I mentioned in my previous post, am doing things that take me out of my comfort zone to push me further in life. Ekk!

Side note, can you believe it’s November already? Time has flown by! And the holidays (gasp) are here. For those of you who love the holidays (like me), now is the best time to start planning your winter wardrobe. (In South Florida, “winter wardrobe” means long sleeves.) With a schedule stacked full of cocktail parties, charity functions, family gatherings, potential run-ins with ex-boyfriends friends you haven’t seen in years, you have to look great. Not sure where to start? Don’t fret! I’m here to guide you this season…

The Style Bungalow wearing Alexis Dress

To kick things off, I’ve decided to feature this dress by Alexis from Neiman Marcus. I love it because:

1.) It’s Alexis; she can do no wrong.

2.) It’s not a LBD.

3.) It’s party ready.

All you have to do is throw on some heels (option to add tights) to offset the shape of the dress, grab a cute bag and voila! That’s it. Bring on the champs!

Yes, I get it. The urge to accessorize over the holidays is strong. But trust me, especially in this instance, sometimes less is more. Take it from Coco Chanel, “before leaving the house, a lady should look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” You don’t want to look like you’re overdoing it. As long as your dress is quality, it will make a statement.

Take a closer look at this dress. It’s a rich color. It’s trimmed with white and blue velvet at the collar and bell sleeves. It ties in the back to create an effortless drape. It’s easy. It’s chic. And great on just about any figure.

ROMPER: (c/o) Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton/SANDALS: Similar/SUNNIES: Save, splurge/SHELL BANGLES: H&M

When it comes to lace, I swear… Alexis does it best. I absolutely adore this blue romper from her latest collection. It’s bright and playful. Perfect for a vacation or an evening out. It’s cut from the most beautiful blue French lace that accentuates your waist and shows off your legs. And is definitely a statement piece!

I wore lace up gladiator sandals and chunky bracelets for a casual look. But you can easily wear it with ankle-tie sandals, some golden accessories and a jewel-toned clutch for a different take.

Today I’m focusing on another beautiful piece from Miami based designer, Alexis… #swoon

Alexis Gracilia Top

This totes adorbs Gracilia top can be purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue Boca Raton or by clicking here. I love it because it feels feminine, (totally my gig) light and romantic. I also love how it’s fastened in the back by a single ribbon. Sexy, right?! Especially when the wind catches it…

This top can be worn with the matching mini skirt (click here to see it) or with destroyed skinny jeans. I prefer wearing it with jeans (since I live in them) but I’m sure it would also look great with white jeans or with cut off denim shorts.

Team it with accessories that feel summery like wedges and chunky bracelets. Or opt for a girly bag, lace up wedges and big white sunglasses.

DRESS: (similar here, here and here); BAG: (c/o) Neiman Marcus/SANDALS: here

I’m a sucker for lace. It’s romantic. It’s lovely. It’s ultra-feminine. It’s rich. It’s delicate. It’s so on-trend right now. Not that it matters, but lace is literally taking the fashion world (and my heart) by storm.

I blame it on designer, Alexis Barbara, for coming up with the dreamiest lace designs, like this one from Neiman Marcus. Since discovering this Miami-based line a couple years ago, I’ve fallen in love with the fabric again. Inspired by the Mediterranean, her designs are sophisticated and fashion forward…

This dress can be worn in so many different ways – with sandals or a sun hat, with a denim jacket and sneakers or with heels and a sleek bracelet. It looks great as long as you own it and let the piece be the main event (i.e. by paring back accessories).
